About Reiki
First of all, Reiki is comprised of 2 Japanese words: "Rei" meaninig Universal
and "Ki" meaning Life force Energy.
When I "send" or "give" Reiki, I am "channeling" that Universal Energy through myself and to them. It does not take my energy, I tap into that Universal energy and focus it on specific people, plants, animals, etc. I was Attuned to this by another Reiki master, given the knowledge and symbols and was empowered to tap into the energy.
Reiki is NOT a religion. It beautifully compliments all belief systems.
Reiki cannot be used for harm, ever. It is always for the highest good of the "patient". Reiki goes to where it is needed most in the patient, and treats the mind as well as the body, or situation, and can even transcend time.
Reiki is a completely natural way of reducing stress and healing,
that compliments treatment from your regular physician. It is not a replacement for regular checkups and health care.
Reiki healing is non-invasive, and does NOT involve diagnosing ailments, or the use of prescription or non-prescription medications. Reiki sometimes involves "laying on of hands", but that is not necessary and the quality of Reiki is in no way diminished without it.
**Note: Healing does not always mean cure. It can also mean pain relief or ease in transition from this life to the next. Reiki can NOT "magic away" the illness.**
A Little About a Reiki Session
During an in-person treatment, I use symbols to further focus and magnify the energy, and I have hand positions to treat the body. I burn incense, or scented candles, and play a cd with relaxing nature sounds or relaxing music.
For Distance Reiki, I use the "Surrogate" method for these sessions, I choose a stand-in to represent the client.(This being a Teddy Bear that I have set aside for this purpose only.) I take the name, location, and if provided, the photo and focus on them, the intent being for sending the energy to that specific person. Then I do a standard in person treatment on the surrogate, using all the symbols and hand positions I would use in person. The energy goes out, with its intent to heal the client, and waits to be received.
Then its up to the client. And all that is required of them is to accept it.
In all actuality, they need only do that(which essentially is done by requesting the session)… If the client goes on with their normal day to day, they most likely will not notice it, because there are other things on their mind. The healing goes on regardless and the actual effects may be noticed later with better sleep, clarity of mind, or easing of pain.
In person, I can visibly see the relaxation, the change in posture when the pain eases, or the like. But with distance, I do not get to see that, and oft times I hear nothing else. So I welcome any feedback, a confirmation of what I know and feel is happening.
For those of you who like to know a bit about the scientifics:
As early as the 1930's a distinguished researcher, by the name of Harold Saxon Burr,
believed that, even before symptoms appeared, changes could be detected in the
energy field around the human body.
In more recent years, scientists have learned to track the changes in these energy fields while others can stimulate healing with magnetic fields.
In the 1980's, pulsating biomagnetic fields being emitted from the hands of
a Therapeutic Touch practitioner were found by Dr. J. Zimmerman.
It was also found that the pulsating naturally goes back and forth through all the therapeutic frequencies, enabling healing to be stimulated throughout the body.
Thank you all. Namaste'
